Pediatric Therapy Services
Treehouse Pediatric Therapy provides multidisciplinary therapy services for children ages 0-21 in Richmond, VA. No need to drive all over town— our speech, OT, PT, feeding, and myofunctional therapists are all in one clinic, working as a team!
Evaluations
Your child’s initial evaluation will allow us to gain insight into their developmental strengths and difficulties. Depending on your child’s areas of need, the evaluation may include:
Parent interviews and questionnaires
Standardized testing
Movement tasks in the gym
Child-led play and tabletop activities
Examination of the face, jaw, lips, tongue, and mouth
Eating a small meal or snack
We make evaluations as fun and stress-free as possible. Your child will likely think they are just playing while we gain their trust and learn about their skills during playful activities!
Our Approach to Therapy
At Treehouse Pediatric Therapy we take a collaborative approach to therapy, addressing all of your child’s needs under one roof. Our team of speech, occupational, and physical therapists will support your child’s growth through:
Movement activities and obstacle courses
Pretend play and social games
Writing, coloring, cutting, and building tasks
Simple food prep and playful food exploration
No matter what your child is working on, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where they can learn, play, build friendships, and gain confidence.
Our Specialties
Occupational Therapy
Our OT sessions focus on building life skills while having fun— your child may not even realize they’re working because it feels so much like play! Whether your child is navigating an obstacle course in the sensory-motor gym, playing a targeted game, building with Legos, or working on new skills at the table, every activity will be skillfully tailored to support their development. OT will help your child improve their:
Motor coordination, postural stability, balance, and sensory processing
Fine motor skills for activities like handwriting, zipping, cutting, and coloring
Emotional regulation, self-regulation, and problem-solving skills
Social participation and play skills
Speech Therapy
Our speech therapy sessions are tailored to address the root cause of your child’s speech or language challenges. Each session begins with a review of home practice before moving on to build new skills through pretend play, structured games, or social activities. When needed, we also integrate myofunctional therapy techniques to treat persistent speech sound errors. Speech therapy will help your child:
Use all age-appropriate speech sounds to speak clearly
Express wants, needs, and ideas through speech or AAC
Follow directions and learn in the classroom
Socially interact with other children and adults
Physical Therapy
Our PT sessions are designed to help your child build strength, coordination, and confidence while having fun. We create exciting and purposeful movement experiences that support your child’s physical development using therapy balls, balance beams, climbing structures, scooter boards, vibration plates, and more. Our goal is to help your child move through life more easily by improving their:
Gross motor skills, balance, and coordination
Strength, endurance, and postural control
Gait pattern and stability
Comfort during movement, with less pain or stiffness
Feeding Therapy
We specialize in helping children overcome feeding challenges related to picky eating, oral motor delays, and sensory sensitivities. Our speech and occupational therapists create playful, low-pressure sessions that build feeding skills at your child’s pace. Caregivers are encouraged to bring both familiar “safe foods” and new foods they’d like their child to explore through fun, sensory-based experiences— like food play and using kid-friendly tools. Feeding therapy will help your child:
Feel safe trying new or non-preferred foods
Eat a more balanced diet with a variety of foods
Develop oral motor skills for clean and efficient eating
Experience peaceful and enjoyable mealtimes
Myofunctional Therapy
Our myofunctional therapy sessions are highly personalized to address underlying issues with breathing, sleeping, swallowing, or speaking. Sessions often include a review of previously assigned exercises, hands-on therapeutic activities, and new exercises to practice at home throughout the week. Our goal is to improve overall quality of life by helping you or your child:
Achieve proper oral rest posture and nasal breathing
Speak clearly with accurate speech sounds
Chew and swallow more effectively
Get high-quality, restful sleep
Consistent home practice is an essential part of myofunctional therapy. We take time to coach parents so that they can support their child’s progress between visits, and provide video tutorials whenever possible.

Social Skills Groups
Small Group Classes & Therapeutic Pairings
At Treehouse Pediatric Therapy, we believe that social skills go beyond just knowing the “rules” of social etiquette. We will help your child develop a wide range of skills, like recognizing and managing their own emotions, considering the perspectives of others, following a group plan, listening with their whole body, collaborating effectively, and contributing their own ideas while respecting the ideas of others.
Our social groups help children grow in these areas through fun, creative, play-based activities and projects. In addition to groups, we also offer social pairings— where two children are thoughtfully matched to practice social skills together during therapy.
